Final Fantasy 16 Producer Says Next Trailer Will Focus on Story Elements

In a recent issue of Famitsu Magazine, there was a 16 page feature on the upcoming Final Fantasy XVI. Producer Naoki Yoshida teased fans in a 6-page long interview about what the next trailer will focus on. He revealed that the FFXVI trailer will release this Fall and that the storyboard as well as composition for the next trailer had already been finished.

In response to the reactions for the previous trailer, Yoshida shared the feedback was quite positive. The trailer managed to portray the developer’s goal of introducing the summons as well as their formidable battles.

So far, Square Enix has released two trailers for the game, the first being ‘Awakening’ which revealed the game. The second trailer ‘Dominance’ featured combat gameplay.

Brooding main character Clive Rosfield will combine martial combat with the use of real-time Eikon abilities.

In a recent interview with IGN, Yoshida also shed light on the structure of the game, confirming the title won’t be open-world but will have areas that provide a memorable experience and will be very much streamlined. Other tidbits unveiled were taking control of Eikons in real-time, letting players switch between main character Clive’s martial combat and summons seamlessly.

While we may have to wait patiently a little longer for the next trailer, we can’t wait to see what will be shown next concerning FFXVI’s much darker storyline.

Final Fantasy XVI will release in summer 2023 for Playstation 5.
